Sherman Dolmen was interviewed on the 9, Monday on 350 W St. The settting of the interview spot was comfortable but bare. Mr. Dolmen was born in Vervan, Germany, on, September 4th 1863. His occupation was a backsimth for 40 years and a painter since 1920-1938 and he thinks those are his accomplishments. His education was only up to 4th grade. Sherman was baptised in the German Lutheran religion. When he was intervied he was 75 years old and was slightly deaf and he said that he lived and saw Nebraska grow. The other points that the inivewer got out of the interview was that he was proud of working all of his life, lived honestly and expected others to do the same thing, and he was a good man with a good record.
What are your impressions
I am very impressed by this man making money durring a very rough time throughout the United States and he kept his record. I am also suprised that he worked his whole life as a blacksmith because a blacksmith is a very hard job because you are working in the hot metal and all of the fire, it could get very dangerous. I am impressed at he only had a 4th grade education and he suceed so much in his life and in his carrer.

Born on December 10th, 1924, James F. Turner was five years old when the stock market crashed. Turner was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the Great Depression. Normally, I'd imagine that anyone growing up at that age would have a hard time, but he was lucky. James's father worked for the civil service as a railway post clerk and didn't lose his job or money. Just ten days after Turner got out of high school, he was drafted into the Navy. Luckily, there was a change in his high school curriculum that taught boys and girls how to shoot a rifle, because of the United State's involvment in World War II. He went to radio school before being shipped to the Pacific, where he got experience in combat. He said, "Through a series of circumstances... I became a chief petty officer," and therefore, had about thirty men under his control. Furthermore, it takes a strong man to grow up during The Great Depression and be a part in the Navy, and he was this man exactly.
